How do you secure your bike?

Hello again, guys!
I was reading through the stolen bike area, and I was wondering how most people opted to secure their MBs. The reason I ask this, is that I am going to be beginning a build of my own, and I live in a tucked-away part of a business park (which is on the edge of a rougher part of town). I don't think my bike would be targeted, but I'm very cautious.
I plan to purchase a bike lock with a heavy cable/lock like the one I posted below. What are your thoughts on this? What would you recommend?

I personally keep it locked in my garage at home and bring it into the building where I work no one seems to mind.

I bring mine inside my apt. if it's going to be more than 25-30 minutes. When I am out and about I use a heavy duty chain and master padlock.

I use a ridiculously heavy security chain with protective cover from Tulsa Chain and a Master armored trailer lock. Good so far - a year and a half of frequent use.

you really want to go with the biggest, baddest chain or U lock you can find because face it... these bikes cost more than just money for us. And because they are so unusual, they are bigger targets than "mere" bikes.

Kryptonite's site lists each lock with their ideal use ("low crime areas"; "high crime areas"). Some of the chains even have "insurance" policies (check each description to know which ones do, like the "Faghettaboudit" lock)

Notice that their cable locks are all designated for "low crime areas". Don't get a cable lock...

I have a U lock with a cable lock-- between the two I can lock the bike to itself as well as to something else.

I use NY Fuggedaboutit chains. However, these weigh 14 lbs. I used to feel very tired after my rides. With a GP460 engine, there was no room on the bike to carry them, so I wrapped the chain over my body, bandolier-style.

Now I leave one of these chains at my workplace. I also have a cable lock to chain my front tire.

I have two more NY F chains and an NY F U-lock at home.The U-lock and one chain secure my 1985 Honda Elite 150 scooter. The third NY F chain is for when I cruise in town. With my Tanaka, there is room to wrap the super-strong chain around the seat tube.
