Hello fellow engine bike enthusiasts.
I just finished my first build. Everything seems good, except for one problem.
The bike wants to bog out when put under a load.
If I sort of let it coast,it runs fine, but, every time I try to give it throttle,it wants to die.
I am on my third tank with the increased oil/fuel mixture.
I have also made sure that my choke is not staying on(it's not)
This is my first experience with a 2-stroke engine...is this normal?
I have been looking at this site for some time, and, you guys seem pretty savvy.
Any advice would be apreciated.

Welcome
Use spark plug NGK b5hs for starts. Sick Bike Parts sells them if you cant find one near you.
Another common problem would be some debris in the carb jets.

Thanks,
Ill pick up a spark plug after work.
I'll also inspect the carb jet...it never occured to me that there might be debris,in a brand new carb. Thank you so much for the advice!

Jeff, MOST people on the site here recommend the B6HS. The B5 will also work OK. And yes, Junk in the tank is common. If bideronit13 had taken the time to explain I would'nt be doing it now. On the new tank the factory paints the tank all the way up to and including the very top of the filler neck. When you take the gas cap off and on it chips flakes of paint off and it winds up in the tank. This will clog a jet quick. The best thing to do is always use a filter. Before I install a new tank I use fine sandpaper to take off the paint on the very top of the filler neck. And since you use oil in the gas it will never rust there. Problem solved.
Big Red.
