Hi all,

I'm wondering what everyone's experience has been with getting their significant others to get on a motored bike. I can't seem to get my wife to be willing to get on my bike (so i'm building her a friction drive 4 stroke) which is an in frame 2 cycle. I'm just wondering if anyone has persuaded their spouse to give it a try (everyone who has tried my bike has been skeptical until they get the engine going, then they are hooked).

Looking forward to reading advice,

Phil

I would think that most would prefer something quiet, and non-smoking (And, not needing to premix the gas/oil.) My wife enjoyed riding her Honda (GXH25) FD until it was stolen.

Now, she's leery of the whole idea; says it's too easy for someone with a bolt cutter to make off with both the bike and the motor, possibly leaving her stranded.

Little Mama has her ideas about what she wants to ride, so it seems I will have to build it from scratch... she has rather high standards, that lady... but then again, she DID hitch up with me so what can you expect? (harharhar)
She's all fluffed about haveing her own

If your wife wants to ride with you the only real method that will be acceptable is an electric system. Women generally don't like the smell and stink and oily filth (either from the engine or the lubricated chains) usually associated with motorized bicycles.

and

the first time she burns her leg on the hot exhaust, from either an accidental contact or because she falls over and the muffler burns her good and proper,,,,, you'll never hear the end of it and she will blame you for the burn scar for the rest of your life...

Nah... Miss Annie LOVES the stinky, greasy, FAST MOVING and LONG LASTING two-stroke thunder buckets. She does want it pretty, however... and is willing to rag it down after each ride

My girl friend despises my love of motor bikes. Always commenting that if I put as much passion and effort into something legitimate we wouldn't be worried about money. If fact everything I do.....pot, gamble, excessive masturbation, guitar , hang with my dudes, not make enough money, she has issues with. Sometimes I wonder why I put up with someone 180 degrees away from me....but then I tell her to shut the fork up slap her a lil and jam my male rooster down her throat and it makes it all suddenley bearable

I guess that makes you a man, Chris. Probably tongue in cheek, but disgusting.

Oh goodness,

I laughed and laughed and laughed at Chris's response - did i say that i laughed and laughed and laughed

Definitely tongue in cheek, but i'm glad somebody had the gumption to give a "non politically correct" response...
