If you Google for a 4 stroke kit you will find several vendors offering a kit for under $300. Notice that they never show the gearbox side of the kit......and if they do, it's very obscure....that's because it is the infamous "hoot" gearbox.....DO NOT buy this gearbox, it will only be trouble and will break almost immediately......I offer this from personal experience.....and they won't tell you its the hoot, only that its chain driven.....

First what do you expect for $300.00, you get what you pay for, you can replace the gear box for around $150.00.
I have to hoot gear box I put 750 miles on it so far, with 3 more months to go on the warranty,
I did clean out the grease that came in it and replaced it with a synthetic heave duty gear grease, witch check it every 250 miles have to add any more to it and I have not had to had a problems yet, and my chain is just as tight as it was new.

Don't get me wrong I know the gear box suck and it will go out, but when it does I'll replace it then.
Now I do agree if you got the cash go with a better kit, if not then do as I did buy 1 expecting the gear box to go out
and put back the cask to replace it.
Hay if it last the 6 month warranty I'll have the cask to replace it by then, and I don't have to walk.

for 300 bux you can buy an old jap street bike/motorcycle

This is very true, but most of the old Jap bikes at that price range need more than $300 additional for maintenance supplies, parts and stuff just to get them safe and reliable again. :geek:

The main reason I got a 4 stroke kit in the first place is because thanks to an uninsured drunk driver totaling my car and given me brain damage as well, the state of Texas took my license away from me, so even a bran new Motorcycle would do me no good I could not ride it, other wise I would of just got a car.

Also maybe in your state you can buy a motorcycle for $300.00 not in Texas even old POS are $1,000.00 +

I got a honda 550 for FREE needed nothing to ride except gas and a battery.

Don't take it personally but if you are so "brain damaged" the state took your license away you shouldn't be on the road operating any vehicle.

No one should help you as you pose a hazard to the public.

First I have never ask you and or any other person on this form and or in the state of Texas for anything.
If you knew anything about me you would know I give help.
Just ask members of this form, you will find those that I have help and repaired there MB at no cost.
Including riding to there house to fix it and spending hours to do it.

Second you should not comment on thing you know nothing about.
It just makes you look bad, and like an A$$ to put it nicely. That's not taken it personally that's common sense.

For your information my brain damage gave me seizures and that is why the state took my license from me.
If you know anything you would know, in most states anyone that has seizures even if it's just 1 or 2 a year by law can not drive a car, motorcycle moped over 50CC and so on.
In the state of Texas and many other states if you have seizures you may not be able to get a class C drivers license, but you can get a class M drivers license, to ride a gas/electric moped and or a MB as long as it does not go over 30 PMH.

Again if you knew anything you would know, people with all kind of brain damageand or birth defects including autism, retardation, down syndrome just to name a few, may not be able to get a class C license but again they can get a class m license to ride a moped/MB as long as it under 50cc.

Just because you have brain damage/birth defects does not mean your are to damaged to ride a MB.

Now as far a free Motorcycle, that like saying I won the lotto, 1 in a million.

The state took my license because I of a seizure

I'll vouch for that. Sam made me feel welcome here, and he gave me some good advice. That other guy (who shall remain un-named) made a shockingly vicious comment. He earned--in my book--a rep power of negative 80.

No one should help you as you pose a hazard to the public.

I had 2 read it twice and thrice times but it still didn't sit well with me, because you don't know the full medical history of Sam's injury after the accident.

I've been accused of being overly opinionated and sometimes a little brash, but i didn't feel that i had enough information to make a fair and correct statement, regarding Sams medical condition. It was one of those times that keeping my mouth shut was the best option, thereby avoiding the issue of Sam's medical history being run along hot coals in this forum.

Makes me feel a little uncomfortable even discussing it...
