My new touch up!

How does it look? I added some color and painted over areas on the frame that looked like crap! :) I might paint the gas tank a different color later on!

Color keying is important to getting ' a look ' Looking natural is using colors where they belong . Too many colors spoil a theme.
Gas tanks are the motorcyclists framed canvas . I'd suggest buying another gas tank, sanding it down, JB weld the seams, sand
the cured JB, prime with red primer, let cure a few days, scuff sand, than many coats of gray primer. Let the gray cure for a week,
than sand to perfection. Now your paint will R O C K ! BTW I like your Drive Chain Tensioner, is that a kit, or homebrew ?

I actually ended up painting this tank a slight different shade of blue, the tensioner is homebrew. My friend actually came up with the idea.

Tank

Here's what I've done to the tank but I'll probably end up doing a different one later on

I'm a big fan of painting engine covers to match the frame. It makes that collection of parts from various places look like they belong together.

I agree! Well...originally When I had my stock tensioner and even when i first mounted the engine....I scratched a little paint and it made the bike an eyesore! So I bought some spray paint to touch up the "rough" spots.. That's all I was going to do! Then I thought about buying some chrome engine covers because I like having contrast and I've never built or owned a bike with different colored covers or gas tanks. So I unscrewed all the covers took them off and painted them with several coats of paint each and I said dang these looks sharp! Then when they were drying....I couldn't resist....the sprocket was next! I didnt take the wheel off or anything I just used paint thinner to remove paint from the rim and then I just heavily lubed the chain after wiping that off too! Then it looked sharp..then I decided I was going to keep the tank black...so then I decided to do a color test I sprayed a bit of paint on the tank to see how it looked and I liked the way the color was a slight different shade from the rest of the bike...so I ended up painting the whole tank! and now that everything's painted it turned out REALLY REALLY nice!
