What did you do to your motorized bike today?

I will start this fun thread off! :)

I played around with my new, old 50 cc Huasheng that has
the 5/8" shaft turned down to take bearings to replace
the oilite bushing on a Grubee 4G trans.

I found a better filler that bolts on the end of the 5/8"
shaft to support the last of the 6 micro bearings that go
in the clutch bell.

I bought the 4 stroker from my buddy MotoMagz who has
upgraded his bike to a 97 cc Lifan.

I still need to buy the clutch to get it going. I am pretty sure
that Bicycle-Engines is the only place that you can buy one from?

I will take some pics tomorrow to show how it works.

So, what did you do to your motorized bike today?

Thanks for starting this thread. The other forum started this same topic years ago, and has over 130 pages.

I fiddled around with my new bare frame build and center-mounted 4.5hp CY460 radio-control engine. I tried two frames and was unable to mount the engines and clear the pedals on either frame. I guess I'll have to mount them ala Scooterguy style, which is above the frame's triangle. Ordering SBP bottom bracket and BB frame adaptors tonight.

I ride my bike to work tomorrow, so I'll do a checkup and lube the chains.

tried rebuilding a 66 that i siezed years ago and left in the frame, out in the rain for that time :)

i ordered a 48, so i was sent the wrong motor. after it siezed i shrugged and ordered a cylinder n stuff for the 48 i had. different vendor, and what? i was sent the 66 cylinder. grrr! so i left it sitting and got a new 48 thats still going strong after 5000+

today i decided to join 66 cylinder to 66 case and get it going.

well, its a different piston to the original.

so its reverted back to being a POS thats now on the scrap heap :D

otherwise, the other 3 are going good :)

Maybe a thread needs to be started that is titled: how many really, really bad words have you used when your bike didn't work properly or simply refused to work at all.

It's an exclusive club for those banned from the other forum, but i take the level of professionalism one step further by being banned for 5 reincarnations !!!

Lots of people have had their ban be effective in the 3rd dimension but i've had my ban extended into the 4th dimension; 5 times over !!!

Well here's how the last few days have went. Decided to get the Honda 35cc going from sitting for the winter. Aired up the tires, lubed what needed it, then tried to fire it up. Well it fired up but won't idle plus no power. I'm thinking piece of trash must be in the carb so I take it apart and clean it the best I can, put it back together and same thing. Repeated that about 5 times and no luck, pretty ****ed about now so I order a new knockoff carb for $25 including shipping. So that bikes gotta sit till part comes in. Figure with the old carb I'll have some parts if needed. Still can't figure what went wrong but the thing is like a swiss watch with the springs and needle so maybe I bent something just not right....................I'm itching to ride and there sits my other bike and I figure I'll get that sucker going. Get the bike all ready and the Honda 50 fires right up and I'm smiling. Suns shining and its 80deg outside, life is good. Well about 20 miles into my ride, BOOOM POP! Back tire blows out, cheapass OEM tire that came with the bike when new. Tread was good, it separated in between the tread. At the same time I find out my freewheel is shot, coincidence I believe. Anyways you ever try to push a bike when the tire won't stay on the rim? Very difficult to do, so I call the wife to pick me up in the truck. Don't know how but in 5 days that carb came from China to my mailbox and I'm happy it did. Put it on immediately and the Honda 35 fired right up and runs like new, other bike sits till I get it fixed, tomorrow i'm riding..........Darwin's spring woes..............good reason to have 2 bikes instead of one.

Yea other forum has banned me till MABs are legal in all 50 states.

Yes, I stole the idea from there because I am banned over there right now.
It says Member under name over there but it really should say Banned
and you will notice that my signature has been removed.

5-7HEAVEN, you have been a member here since June 2007.
I have been here since July 2008 and I remember how this
was the best forum before it lost a lot of members due to
some bad decisions by the previous owners and mods.

Anyway back to the topic which is what did you do to your
motorized bicycle today?

I am going to work on my 50cc GXH Honda race bike which will
not have a centrifugal clutch like all the other 50 cc 4 stroke bikes.

I am going to use my EZ Motorbike silent drive trans on it which
works by slipping a 3/8" V belt around the front 2" pulley so I
will have a real manual "slippable" clutch with a clutch lever.

That real clutch also means that I can bump start the bike just like
the 2 strokes.

I thank you again for creating this post here. It is the BEST question to ask any MBer who rides frequently. I try to play nicely, but as in life, we're bound to have disagreements, especially if words are taken out of context. No politics for me at any forum. We all love our bikes and share our experiences w/other MB lovers.

That said, I drove to the Chevron station to buy .75 gallon of gas. Oil in the can sloshed to a 100:1 mix. Once home, I fueled my bike and took off for work. I must confess I'd been previously gassing up @ the pump. On two occasions, I REALLY messed up at the pump, and the bike could barely run. So I'm back to mixing fuel the correct way, in the can, sloshed and shaken, then added to fuel tank. My bike performed very well to and from work. I just LOVE passing bumper-to-bumper traffic! :)

darwin, I'm glad you fixed your bike and are riding.:)

great idea to start this thread. It will be imortal!

I am trying out a new modification for the transfer ports. Good thing I was into plastic model building when a kid. Implementing this mod takes skill and patience.
