Alternative clutch lever?

If I keep the lever on the handlebars, the cable is too short. Anyone know where I can find a clutch cable that is around 60-65" long? Everything on eBay is about 48", which is just a hair longer than what I have.

A clutch cable is the same as any bicycle brake cable that you can buy from a local bike store..

Ya, any bicycle shop, it is just a bicycle brake cable with a barrel on one end.

I found a bicycle shot about 15 minutes away that I never even knew existed, and picked up a new cable today.

screw the bike shops and screw kmart!

i always used to get my complete cables for $4 at kmart. no longer available. bike aisle now consists of cruddy kids 3 speed bmx things, new pedals, flashing LEDS and glittery handlebar grips. great selection

now the lil wiseacres at the bike shop can charge $15 for just the INNER CABLE!


my remedy? tell them to stuff their lycra where the sun dont shine, and go to that place down below.

i then venture forth to...

a lawnmower shop! stranded cable and outer sheaths...on a roll! $1 a metre! lil brass nipples? 50c each!


some auto places have it as bonnet latch pulls, choke cable pulls, throttle cables etc...

$15 is steep! I paid $5 for the inner cable today and the guy made me an outer sheath on the spot. Exactly 60" just as I asked and the outer was only $5 as well. A few more bucks than eBay cables, but at least I didnt have to wait a week.
