How big is this market?

Hi,

I invent solutions to problems and found a common problem
with HT engines. Not sure it is worth my time to develop
an after market solution. Does anyone know how many HT
engines have been sold or how many are sold each year?

All the advice says to invent for large markets which gas bikes
is not, i rarely see one on the roads. The item cost under $5
to mfg and would sell for $20. Sorry cant say what it is.

out there in the US and worldwide.

Truck loads of Happy time engines are sold each year; absolutely truck loads of them, and with a worsening economic outlook for the United States, even more will be sold when people cannot afford to put fuel in their cars, SUV's, etc

They still need to get around so the market for low cost bicycle engines is only going to get bigger.

Not to rain on a parade, but I haven't seen a lot of 2 cycle mopeds or scooters for sale in the U.S. if any, and only some lakes allow 2 cycle boats, which I haven't seen in my life time. Personally from a business perspective my investment would have to lean towards 4 strokes. The 2 cycles can not even be shipped to California. No sales in this state.

Of course though I don't know what your invention is, and it may be for 4 strokes also.

I hope (and figure) they will stay a tiny niche product.Most people seem to want comfort/shelter from all elements, regardless of cost, and I doubt an MAB will ever be considered a status symbol.If you're not lycra clad, you're considered "DUI or a few bricks shy".Stoltz, I believe they're still allowed to sell Tanaka 2-strokes in Cali, could be wrong.Here's hoping we stay small, and unregulated.

Staying small will probably be the key. Heck I'll just write "Custom Maverick" on the side of the tank, and then in small letters below it I'll write "125MPGMAB" Then I'll get a bunch of stickers to distribute for free.
