Hi you all out there.
Is there any body on this forum from Peru ,Sth. America that is, or can any one sugest a dealer of the motors down here where I am living now, will appreciate. Vlad.

Hi Jaguar.
Thank you for your advice, I had plenty experience with powered bycicles in States and am not sure if you've checked the prices they are asking for individual motor here in Peru but it is a daylight robery and it will be cheaper to wait till I get back there and bring one over.
By the way, what are the prices over where you are ? I have contact on supplyer in China and gas motors are 50 - to 80 cc $75-90 but that is if you buy minimum 40 units anyway I am in Iquitos and would like to tinker around with those bikes and make a go of it. Regards.

Here they charge $250 to install one in your bicycle. I thought the going rate from China was $50 each for a lot of 50. But think of how much money a dealer has to pay in freight charges from China to South America. And then there's tax. And maybe special costs for the permission to import them.

I know this isn't what you were looking for, but I made a video of me and my motorized bicycle, and for the soundtrack song, I used "Demolición" by Peruvian garage/surf rock band Los Saicos, recorded in 1964.

I dunno '33 you might not want to try this, not being a professional rider on
a closed track,(har har). They may have changed in 40 yrs, but the import
duties were really scary back when.:giggle:

Hello again Jaguar, I am getting back to you after a while, I am in Iquitos, Peru if you remember and I have fixed mi bike now but most peculiar thinking's happened.
After doing up number of bikes this is first time I am having this problem, I brought the motor from States so I think this could be a reason because of the region I am living in so problem is this, motor gets hot pretty quick, that wouldn't be such a problem but then it just doesn't keep the idle so I am trying to find out if you heard or experienced anything like this, and why I am writing to you about this is because you live in very same region also so will appreciate very much if you get back to me about it.
So best regards and also thanks, for past advice. Vlad.

I've no idea why, but for decades the cost of importing anything from
the states to Peru has been inordinately high.

It is probably a leak where the intake manifold connects to the engine, or where the carburetor connects to the intake manifold.
What is your elevation in Iquitos?

Hi Jaguar, thanks for getting back to me, first, as you know there is always more than one thing creating the problem well I found the problem, cable from CDI, if it hasn't fallen out on CDI side it would've been puzzling me for a bit longer but when it came out the copper wire was chewed out and had practically no connection and it may have some more power when it's running, that'why it is going but when I stopped it cut out'
After I shortened the thing it's running normal and got the idle. And sure there were those leeks you're mentioning but am on to those.
As to elevation here, I never found out yet exactly but can not be very high as at the coldest, temperature doesn't go below 18*C at which locals think it's freezing, you may be in higher altitude though.
That about does it, thanks again.
