Well, got here today. Looking forward to seeing for myself if this boost bottle stuff is for real. I hear they don't work, and I hear they do. So, I've yet to try it, but will in a few days?!!~

........Any advice putting it on this Skyhawk 48cc?

Don't waste your time with a boost bottle, for it won't give anything except lightening your wallet.

If wishing to install a device that "will" give an improvement, order a reed valve intake from Rock Solid Engines.

boost bottles are best suited for piston ported engines, such as the HT.

boost bottles are a resonant cavity, that nullifies the effect of a fixed length intake tube in conjunction with a fixed port timing.

the size of the bottle itself is critical. the size of the connector is critical. length of connection tube. placement of the tapping point on the inlet manifold. and all that changes with air temp/pressure etc.

basically, unless you spend some serious time calculating then fine tuning, the benefits just arent worth it.

look into other areas that can be fixed with simple handtools first ;)

Thanks for your reply Fabian, Ive heard more bad than good on the boost bottle kits. I was going to fabricate one..... but sounds like its not really worth the time. Also I checked out Rock Solid Engines, and their products look nicely made! Have you used these reed valve intakes? How did it work out for ya?

my 48 cc rse doesn't need a reed setup ..lol mind u its mostly all billet lol

piston was ceramic coated
hed is billet
barrel is fully ported etc
clutch arm is billet so is the clutch cover
and looky here I see a sbp expansion on my shelf an a sbp shiftkit hd 1 im yet to fit .....lol
im tied of passing buses an cars at 65 kph on a 60 kph rd ...lol
an besides I want more than 63 k per 1 lt of bp 98 oct fuel ...(in nz its over 99)
I cant wait for jan 2014 and my new improved (GARM) ..that's my bikes name ...its really merida matts 20 in black an yucky green frame is a 20 inch ...
im a goth for ****s sake
opps
sittin up on a bike rack is my axle driven rse bike I killed but motor has only 3500 k so into GARM goes the old rse 48cc an when I get around to it ill get 1 off jaguars cdi.s
then no need for reed , boost ,,,maybe sum no2 ..lol.then on with the sbp exhaust that's been setup for my 48cc motor by me ..finally the sbp shifter with a 11 ..

Do a Google search for "Rock Solid Engines - Reed Valve Installation for 2-stroke 50cc, 60cc, 66cc 70cc & 80cc Engines"

and a Google search for "Walbro Style Carburettor for Rock Solid Engines Reed Valve Intake"

I agree with headsmess. they can work good if designed right. Most all the ones sold do not have enough passage flow area to work right. You need to make your own.
Actually they are an improvization for engines without enough room for an intake extension which is the better of the two designs.
