When the old site owner was in charge of the place a few nasty moderators (potentially undercover agents from the other site) managed to weasel their way in to the upper echelons of power which resulted in forum members getting "banned" left right and centre; some even banned for spelling and grammar mistakes.
The new site owner overturned a lot of the "bans" (myself included; being previously banned for "life") but i'm suspecting that a percentage of long term members have left the site, never to return.
Fortunately this site seems to be attracting new members in ever increasing quantity as well as members who have become disillusioned at the politics on the other site.

I've got over five years in here now. Though I did drop out for a while. There'd come a point where I felt like I had read everything I wanted to read and said everything I wanted to say.
There've been a few times that I made it a point to at least spend time welcoming the newbies. But the same thing applies even to that.
There are a lot of people who I remember from five years ago who I see nothing of anymore. I can think of a few who I don't miss. But there were a bunch who were good natured and fun to trade posts with. I miss them.
It's kinda melancholy.

Not quite original but my first banned account here as "Forbisher" started in 07-03-2008 and lasted until 06-10-2009
Had a few names since then so I am still here over 5 years later!
