I am asking advice here on four strokes-

the little hs clones are 31cc and have PUSHRODS no timing belt to break honda Gx31

I've never seen a broken belt on the Honda OHC. If it does break its not a problem, just replace it.The engine is designed as a "free wheeling" engine so there is no chance of piston to valve interference.

Those belts are tough, I purposely tried to break one.Not likely it would break in the engine.

long before the belt breaks the teeth will strip off.

I have a 79cc Pred here to mount and it's a nightmare but the cutomer wanted more than 49cc, for the few other 4-strokes I have built I used the HS 49cc with 4G belt transfer case and they have worked great both as a direct drive and a shifter...

Works for me just check the mount plate, we have taken to putting spot welds on the base plate where the bolts are supposed to hold.

Nice bikes KC, my opinion the HS 142f and the Honda 50 are the best mab motors out there that's legal. I get spoiled by the xtra torque they have vs the 35cc motors.

Hey KCvale, what muffler are you using? how does it compare to the long pipe on that come with the ebay kits? mine keep coming loose and i hate them, thanks

I see 3 hs142F with 4G trans... no 79cc preddy.. so KC are you full of crap again?
Ya Yank, I'm just full of crap again as usual per you.

It started as a 212cc Pred build but I couldn't fit the engine in so exchanged it for a 79cc but then the TC2 torque converter I bought won't work on it so I am still looking for a different drive system, hence a nightmare and not a completed bike pic but that's OK Yank, we all know...

Go ahead and snipe at me in every post but really Yank, you should find a new hobby.

Gee I might lose my resident curmugeon status if I say your bikes look nice,so be it.They look nice.

Those 3 have the engines stock box exhaust and I haven't had any problems but a 2-stroke kits pipe bolts right on and works well too.

So does a semi Poo-Poo pipe.

What I like is the constant improvements in the 4G drive, for example this the first 4-stroke I built (note the red cover was painted black before delivery) and the clutch bell was held on by the little angled metal strip to hold the front of the plastic cover on which was really lame.

But they sealed that up with a cone and this is the newest 4G, the old cover had a bulge over the big pulley that some pedals would clip so they removed it.

I think that looks better too and I like the kits, the 4-stroke builds are a shop favorite to test ride shifter or not.

Well, I might as well post up my other two 4-stroke builds.

If you go with a jackshaft shift kit I highly recommend you go with internal hub gears like 3-speed and not a derailleur, 7-speed chain and cheap derailleur's fail with any shifting mistakes but with some HD 410 chain to a fixed sprocket on the rear wheel things run much smoother and no, I haven't seen an internal hub toast yet and 3 speeds is ideal.
