I currently have a Wheelmaster steel rear wheel with 12g spokes and Shimano CB-110 hub. The wheel was great when I got it, but some jackhole knocked my bike over and the wheel was badly damaged. I have attempted to true the wheel several times (I'm a noob at trueing wheels, but this wheel just hasnt been right at all since it got damaged), and the problem just seems to be getting worse. So I'm looking for a replacement, and saw this on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C1249C?ie=UTF8&force-full-site=1&ref_=aw_bottom_links It got some positive reviews from gas bike users, but I'm just hoping the manic adapter will fit it? It sounds like a great wheel at a really great price, just looking for some feedback.

Though I don't own them, I've heard good things as well about these wheels.Velocity triple V's are also a good HD choice (these I own and they're overkill strong).
Sub if you're not going to try to help, why comment with superiority complex laced drivel?

Yeah dude, my bike didnt just "fall over" on its own. Pretty much impossible with a center kickstand. It was knocked over. I dont know how it was knocked over (pushed, ran into on someone else's bike, hit with a car). I also dont know if it was accidental or on purpose. Moreover, my bike is heavy, with a steel frame, 98cc minibike engine, Suzuki hydraulic motorcycle forks, and a Worksman front wheel with drum that weighs almost 20 lbs by itself. The impact of the fall combined with the weight of the bike (120 lbs at least) could have been enough to damage the rim even if it was an accident, which I dont think it was. So the next time you're driving your wallyworld bike with your ht kit, don't compare it to my bike just because yours has a $200 hand built wheel. Thats like comparing a Ford to a Mercedes because the Ford has gold spinners on it.

First off, these weinmann rims are double walled alloy. Given a choice, I'd take double walled ANYTHING over single walled steel. Secondly, you seem stuck on the idea of bikes falling over vs them being vandalized. Any component of a bike can sustain permanent, unrepairable damage when its vandalized, ya jackhole. Think you're special cause you paid $200 for a wheel? Whoopty-doo. Nobody cares about you, your wheel, or your bike, ya freakin mouth breather. And as far as I'm concerned, my bike is not overweight. When you build a fully custom bike with a 98cc engine, its going to be heavy. My bike does the speeds its geared for with no problems, even with my 300 lb self on it. Can you say the same about your wallyworld china girl bike? Even if you can, I dont care. My bike was vandalized, and the wheel got damaged. If I walked up to your bike and kicked the rim pretty hard a couple times, it would bend. My rim was fine before the bike got vandalized. In fact I think someone did kick it, because the rim was bent in the direction the bike fell, not the opposite direction, as it most likely would have been if the damage had been caused by the fall itself. The bike was too far away from the curb to have been hit by a car. I dont know why anyone would vandalize my bike, but they did. If someone wants to vandalize your bike, they will damage it. Just because your wheel was built by some world champion d-bag and cost $200, dont make it vandal-proof. Doesnt make it idiot proof either, since you're able to ride it. I built this bike from the bare frame up, piece by piece with hand-picked parts. There was nothing wrong with my rim before it was damaged. I'm not some noob who tried a custom bike for his first project. This is my 3rd bike. My last bike had the same brand of wheel as the one I'm now replacing, and it stood up to a rag joint for 3 years with my 300 lb butt riding on it. If I could find another, I'd buy it again. Despite the fact it was single walled steel, it was very strong. But that particular wheel seems difficult to find sometimes. The weinmann is a good double walled rim at a very good price, and I'm sure it will work out good. I posted this thread to hear from other people who have used this rim with a manic adapter, not to hear from some mouth breather who thinks he is special cause he paid $200 for a rim. Now welcome to my ignore list.

Well so far, no one seems to have any experience with these particular rims. I do know that they are double walled and have braces between the walls. Gotta be about as strong as you can get for machine-built. I'm ordering one on Thursday.

Moving on, I'm ordering the Weinmann rim tomorrow. My wife is getting a tuition refund from her online school, and she said I could order the wheel and pay her back on Thursday when I get paid. This is gonna be a really good week for me. Getting a brand new, double walled alloy rim, a BlackBerry Q10, the new Splinter Cell game for the PS3, going out to eat at a nice restaurant, going to the movies, and my wife is ordering my new modular helmet that I'm getting for Christmas. Yes, I picked out my own Christmas present, lol. Anyway, this rim should be VERY strong, double-walled alloy AND 12g stainless spokes. It shouldn't need any extra attention or maintenance out of the box. Obviously, I'm going to check it for trueness and inspect the spoke tension. But as long as everything is good, I'm not touching it. After all, no reason to screw around with a brand new rim in perfect condition. I already know I won't have to adjust the chain alignment, since this wheel has the same hub as my last two wheels, Shimano CB-110 or a clone. This one actually has a KT Histop, which is a clone, but my current wheel has a genuine Shimano hub, so I'll be swapping out the coaster brake. I just can't wait to get this wheel. Too bad it will probably take at least a week since its not Amazon Prime eligible and there aren't even any options to upgrade the shipping. I went on the seller's website, but couldn't even find the wheel there, so don't know if they would ship out any faster if I ordered direct from their website or not. Its no big deal, though. It's not uncommon to find things on Amazon or eBay that you can't find on the sellers' individual website. And its really not uncommon with Niagara Cycle Works. The wheel I'm using now was from them but through Amazon and also not found on their site.

I looked around on different websites, seen a lot of single walled steel wheels going for the same or more as this Weinmann wheel, some for even more. Granted, some of them have 11g spokes, but comparing strength, a double walled rim with 12g spokes is going to be at least as strong as a single walled rim with 11g spokes, if not stronger. And some of those wheels with 11g spokes are going for $20 more than the Weinmann wheel. That Weinmann wheel is definitely still the best deal for the money.

The wheel is ordered. Since no one seems to have posted anything about it on this site, I'll be the first to post a review for it.

I'm done going back and forth with you bro. I didnt read your previous comment, though im sure it was something superior sounding. I'll build my bike how I want (obviously, despite what some f*ckwad know it all has to say about it), and you can build your wallyworld special how you want. Then you can go jump off the empire state building for all I care. You're nothing but a sad, pathetic nuisance, and I'm done with you. This is the last response you will see from me and thankfully, I dont have to view any of your posts if I dont want to. After you're done pulling your lower lip over your head and swallowing, perhaps you should consider the same. Good day, sir.

Wait, one more thing, buddy......

Ok, now I'm done.
