My name is Greg. Just got my kit a few days ago and I'm having a blast. I've put around 20 miles on it and still on the first tank of gas. Seems to be okay. Just a bit rough running. Not sure if it's due to still being in the break-in stage. Or maybe the oil-rich mix (16:1). I know the first thing I'm gonna do is trash that junk spark plug and get an NGK for it. The bike I bought from my cousin at his yard sale several years ago. A whole $10. Only mod I had to do was remove the front derailleur. It sat right where the rear motor mount needed to go. Didn't use the front gears that much anyway so no big loss. No front brake right now as the lever broke. Waiting on a dual-pull from Sick Bike Parts. Anyway here's what she looks like.

Welcome to Motoredbikes! Beware of that chain tensioner. They have a tendency to spin into the spokes. Some guys remove chain links and delete the thing.

Had a little problem with it on my first run. Didn't have it quite tight enough and although it didn't go into the spokes, it did throw the chain off the rear sprocket. I made sure that puppy was tight after that. So far no more problems with it. I've read about doing away with it. But getting the tension just right by removing links I think would be a miracle. Also thought of buying a spring-loaded tensioner.

I use the tensioner to keep the chain off the frame, otherwise, I would also delete it. AND it's easier to get the chain adjustment right with it. It's like I always say...
IT'S YOUR BIKE, BUILD IT YOUR WAY.

Well, I have decided to replace the stock tensioner with an engine-mounted spring-loaded one. Have read where those who bought one said they worked great. Will let everyone know how it does when I get it.

Here's the tensioner I am referring to. Looks to be a very stable mount. Contact turbobuick1 for more details.
