Hi I took the bike out for a short ride today and the bike was running good wide open i was getting 25mph out of the bike and then suddenly it lost power it would only do about 18mph i got the bike back home then i noticed that there was some dirt in the fuel line so i got that cleaned and put on the little filter that came in the kit then i thought if i had the right mixture of oil in the fuel could the engine be starting to cease. Now i can't get engine starting it has a good spark and fuel is going into the carb. Could it be that my fuel/oil mixture is wrong i mixed 3.7 litres of petrol to 60ml of 2 stroke oil and also it is the 66cc engine
Thanks

You mixed a 62:1 ratio. These engines are supposed to take 16:1 when new. I doubt it would seize or anything, but it's still bad and you should add some more oil to that gas right away. If the engine isn't stiff when rolling the bike with the spark plug out then there wasn't any damage, just some extra wear

maybe it got too hot due to the inadequate oil and then warped the head even more than it was stock.
Take the head and cylinder off and plane them on sandpaper and glass.
and make sure the rings aren't stuck in their grooves due to some of the aluminum melting off the piston.
have fun!

dont let all the BS scare you.

you took the bike for a SHORT ride.

it started losing power...probably only runs at half throttle or less

you found dirt in the fuel line.

you then fitted a fuel filter.

a bit like putting the cart before the horse in my opinion.

your jet is blocked. clean it.

while 3.7 litres to 60ml may be one strange and wacky oil mix...(is it really 62:1?) its not that far removed from my standard 50:1 that doesnt seem to cause any issues...on extended full throttle rides...

yea it could be dirt in the main jet but he did say he was running full throttle which doesn't take long to reach max temperature and seize if there is inadequate lubrication.
take the top off the carb with the slide, remove the float bowl, and use a twist tie to poke thru the jet to unblock any possible obstructions.
this reminds me of when mine kept getting obstructed every time I rode. It turned out to be a crummy filter that was losing hair which was getting in the jet. I wound up trashing it and just wound some cloth around the petcock screen and tying it in place with fine wire. very southern engineered but it worked.

another good one is a cigarette butt in the line ;) yeah, im in the southern hemisphere im that southern ;) some brands dont like petrol

oh...and the small tube from a ciggy lighter is actually a filter...perfect for filtering gas jets, ey bro :)

my moneys on the blocked jet...that could cause lube/heat issues just because its running leaner and will therefore get even hotter than normal...but still...62:1 is better than nothing. (confirmation...its 61.6666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666imgettingbored7:1)

 Holy lack of oil Batman, that's evil engine torture because a safe oil fuel ratio of 25:1 uses 3.7 litres of petrol to 148ml of petrol.

I hope that you used miracle mystery oil when running the engine at 61.6666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666 666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666:1
