I didn't order a kit just checked if it would go through in the cart, that's a deal though considering what others cost.

NO, that is NOT a deal ...the gearbox is defective from the factory & cannot be fixed....also the engine is proably the short shaft version which means a quality gear box will not work on it..

I wonder if the 12T freewheel sprocket is available seperately somewhere & if it is the splined type to fit pocketbike 5:1 gearbox's?

Doug consider the cheapest HS 142f you can buy is $169 plus shipping right now, then here you get the motor plus all the extra kit parts for $230 shipped. You state it probably has a tapered shaft. Do you know for sure? Maybe your right but that price including shipping seems like a bargain, the info is there let folks decide whether it's for them or not.
