I was thinking its probably the fuel mixture but if its an air leak, im wondering what kind of gasket material is good to make my own gaskets and where locally do I get it? Thanks in advance

its squishy, easy to work, and youre just going to throw it away...why pay?

or silicone sealant, or both...your choice ;)

Make sure your throttle cable is not pinched.
It should snap back to the idle set screw on the carb with an audible click when you release the throttle.

well ok you win for knowing how to seriously confuse someone. Is the answer cereal boxes? lol

he's telling you to make cardboard gaskets from cereal boxes

realistically it's probably not a gasket that's leaking though, the piece the throttle cable goes into is a likely suspect if you've already checked the more obvious places like where the carb attaches to the intake pipe or where the intake connects to the cylinder

heh heh heh :) devious arent i?

and yeah, i kept it short so others could have a chance to answer for once ;)
