ok so a few weeks ago i blew my rings and gouged the cylinder and piston so i order new one but the piston hit the head.. would have to order a separate special piston.. THE GRUBEE OR GT5. so i went ahead and ordered a new motor the exact same one i had.. left everything on my bike just put the motor, throttle cable, and clutch cable on it.. but idk why or how but seems like this motor has so much less power than my other one.. could it be the new carb? could the motor be angled a little different? could it be the new magneto? i had a replacement magneto on my old motor. any ideas how i could have lost so much power after buying the same motor???? thanks for reading and any advice...

most likely thing is that you need to wait for the rings to seat

ok i havent really ran it. just up the block a few times.. it just doesnt seem like it has any power like its sluggish. im gonna take it to work tomorrow see how it acts. i might change out the carb see what that does..

I'm running in a new motor right now, got less than 30 miles on it & am worried about going downhill as it won't go back up that hill without a really good running start at it : )

thats weird my other motor was nice.. u pulled the throttle u felt it. this one is the same kind and all just seems like it struggles a bit and doesnt have the power at all.. im gonna run it for a day or so and see it anything changes if not then im putting my old carb and intake on it and gonna try that..

5 or 6 years ago, I used to check barrels & pistons with a micrometer - saw a couple thou diff between kits all delivered together from same supplier - tighter ones always ran better with little run in time, but looser ones usually ran longer once they ran in

stopped measuring as it was just 'luck of the draw' which you'd get and all were acceptable for cheap chinese crap

I had a similar issue like that before. Mine turned out to be that the carb wasn't getting enough gas, due to the fuel filter in the gas tank. It was partially blocked. So i scrapped the filter in the tank and put a new filter along the fuel line.
