I am exploring frames for a new bike.

I do not think that a folding bike is as strong as a fixed bike.
 
I think a good folding bike is plenty strong. However, folding bikes usually have a shorter wheelbase, and
that can make the handling twitchy at motorized speeds.
-The folding bike in your picture looks like it was specifically made to keep the longer wheelbase of a full sized
road bike.
 
I would motorize the type of bike you are most experienced on.
If you are an experienced BMX bike rider, a BMX will work fine for you.
I'm a mountain biker rider so I generally stick to those.
