Exactly what I am using.

They are not as powerful as claimed, but for two years I can use them and get a complete refund for the $3 warranty.
 
I have a 24v e-bike. You think 4 batteries would provide decent range if I wired each pair in parallel to extend the Ah?
I'm glad you are actively looking for other Li battery sources that are less costly than Ping and the usual suspects.
Clean Republic sells Li batteries with a built in balancer/bms that are designed to be direct replacements for SLAs. They are still pricey though.

Exactly right. Invest $150 for 4, use them in parallel, and you will have about 200 Watt-hrs.

I would predict 8-10 miles without pedaling.

How fast does you bike go?

(Near the end of 2 years, you will get a new set or your money back)
 
My 24v kit did a bit over 10mph when stock. I added a smaller cog for higher gearing, and now it goes over 12 mph. (learned that from a post by DrkAngel on endless sphere). It has separate external chain drive. I may be able to squeeze 15mph out of this kit with an even smaller cog. After installing the smaller cog, it loses some torque, requiring me to pedal pretty hard from a dead stop until approaching cruising speed (similar to a gas kit). I would be thrilled with 15mph from a 24v kit without pedaling (except I will pedal to get it moving close to cruise speed).
 
If you want speed, increase the voltage to 36 or even 48.

You will need a new controller. Not expensive. See Endless Sphere.

I am pretty sure that your motor will take it.

When I go 30 it is very scary but quite a thrill.

The acceleration is like a bat out of Hell!

My motor will take 36v, but my wiring harness will not. I have had some burned wires while running just 24v.
Rewiring the kit with heavier wire is beyond my abilities. I would like to ditch my heavy SLA batteries and run a lighter 24v lithium pack. lighter bikes are far easier for me to handle during the frequent traffic light stops along my route.
 
Usually the amperage goes down as you increase the voltage, so you might have been better off with 36v.
It should have been limited by the controller in any case.

I really like this setup. These batteries really depend on the rated discharge number. But, even if it is not as good as the expensive LiFePo4 batteries, it seems to be infinitely better than SLA. And, the cost for a 4x SLA versus your setup is very close. Good job
