So I have a couple of questions to ask. I'm trying to figure out if a key goes into the other side of the gear you see in the picture below you should see a yellow arrow pointing to where I'm talking about does anybody know if a Woodruff key goes there? And also my second question is related to the clutch shaft that you see in the picture. I just bought a new one off of eBay because my old one as you see in the picture it's kind of messed up on one end and so the Woodruff key sheared off and I needed to get a new one so I bought a new clutch shaft but it didn't seem to fit snugly like it does on the other end of my old clutch shaft does ,that mean I bought the wrong one or that's just how it is and all clutch shafts are the same?

Watch a video on YouTube by Frederick Chelminski, on how to tear down an 80cc, in a matter of minutes he shows where all the woodruff keys are, hope this helps, he is very informative, I'd say he knows more about motorized bicycles than anyone in the world.

There are two common sizes of keys & slots, one thinner, other fatter (two uncommon sizes sometimes seen are a rectangular key in old motors and a medium sized key).
If you look at your shaft, you'll see it is a bit tapered on the ends - if it is on really tight, the key is not so important, so that if shaft and gears are not same sized slots, you can file the key a bit to fit the narrowest part.

To be sure it is tight, after assembly and a bit of running, re-tighten well again.

Ok cool but I have another question, I have the flat key but I'm not entirely sure it goes in the bevel gear, does it? I can't remember a flat key being inside it when I took it apart.

except on very old 49cc motors, all keys are half-moon shaped now (look at shaft to see if the slot is curved or straight)
