Had my bike about 4 yrs I think I have spent more time fixing it than riding it! Anyway Crassius who in my mind is the motorbike master told me to put couple washers when tightening the head I did and engine bolt snapped! Any ideas how I can fix this or are my motorbike days over? Thanks

did the stud actually break in two, or just pull out the threads?

if it broke in two, then your torque wrench is way off or you had a stud cast with an air bubble inside or somesuch

whichever, when getting new one first be sure to check threads on one of the others

some of these studs have 8x1.0 threads at both ends, some have 8x1.0 at one end & 8x1.25 at other end and some have 8x1.25 at both ends (there are also a few out there that use 6mm studs for head)

No hardware storestore had them!

of course they didnt, they arent standard hardware, unlike tap washers or nails or zinc plated cupboard screws or tubes of araldite.

you go to an industrial bolt supplier. they wont have exact replacements but they should have something that comes close!

or you buy them online from various vendors, such as the one whose link was provided in previous post ;)
