Does anybody have any experience with this sprocket

I recommend sending the seller this question. I am not big on stainless steel.

I like the fact that the top hat is integrated with sprocket. As for the the stainless steel it may be a bit heavy but stainless is much more durable if the chain is aligned correctly it should pose no threat to the chain.

Do a good research on stainless steel. There is a lot of different types and grades of stainless some OK some not so. If you have the chain right steel is just fine. If you get one check it with a magnet as this will tell a lot of the quality of the stainless. Keep us posted on how it turns out.

hopefully it turns out to be between 400 and 440 or else it might just be raw polished steel which in that case i could heat treat it at work

I sure would ask the seller before I bought. Heat treating is not a problem does not take much.

true 304 stainless is not magnetic however the sprocket u looked at on eBay I'm sure is stainless it looks too shiny to be 304 but I would not be too concerned the only issue you might have is that the rest of your drivetrain is mild steel which could be a problem down the road for irregular chain wear .
