Exhaust extended exhaust 48cc

hi guys! me and my friend just finished to built (reform)the stock exhaust from my HT MB it ended up pretty good! we used a shower curtain pipe, the kind for corners, the already come with a bended angle it took about 20 minutes!!!! the sound changed a bit, i have to turn my head to hear it!!! and the top speed its affected, now it seems to run faster before my bike computer read 40 km/h and after the mod it reads 49km/h, so it make things better, ihave to paddle to atart cause it lost some starting strenght but not much, it even comes out softer once you´v started moving here are some pics of the process and the B&A hope my written english improves as my MB does too!!! note: i didn´t take the cat from it,just extended the pipe so my back wheel wont get oiled up anymore and my pants either!

Great looking exhaust. Mounting the muffler behind the seat does make it quieter for the rider. It also prevents you from getting oily exhaust on the rear wheel, and that is important if you have a rim brake.

i had a copper pipe on a 66cc may be 3 foot long and it was the worst sound like an airplane missing mixed with a gun .in my car there is a pipe covered in holes in a pipe with stuff around the in side pipe its called a resonating chamber it lets the air out but kills the sound has anyone made one or tried one on bike?

copper is expensive and it work hardens. you would need it to be very securely mounted to several parts of the frame with a flex joint near the port. I've had bad luck with copper intake runners and fuel lines due to work hardening issues.

Skyash, I have an idea for a chamber like you speak of a small 3 to 4 small rods welded to a disc on each end wrapped in a mesh, then in-between that and your outer pipe I stuff it with stainless steel scouring pads or copper pads, (CHOR+BOY) THEN SLIDE it in ethics said packed scourning pads wit a bolted end or welded. Depending on whether you want to access the inside packing for cleaning? Or WHATEVER!
I SEEN A GUY MSKE ONE OIT OF A TOILET BRUSH HOLDER 'PIPE" FOR TJE OUTER PIPE AND USED S MESH GARBAGE CSN HE BOUGHT BOTH FROM IKEA FOR DIRT CHEAP! GOOD LUCK! THSTS KINDA JOW IM GOING BUT I FOUND SOME CHEAP MUFFLER PARTS AT O'REILY AUTO PARTS YHST ARE CHEAP SND VERY STRONG EITH HANGERS AND ATTACHMENTS .

Lucianomi, your English is better than some who claim it as their only language!

If your exhaust is oily, you are using too much oil.
Buy the best oil your shop has and use no more than 32:1.
Cheap oil is no bargain. It carbons the head and piston.
Synthetic oil or castor oil are my favourites.

I made a copper car exhaust header when copper was cheap. It did crack.

Pipe length has to do with the engines resonant tuning.
Unfortunately a straight pipe only tunes for one rpm.
Gain some speed, lose some low power, or vice versa.
You need to make a "tuned" pipe.
