okay, so i have been looking into the silver bullet train engine and after all my looking have found out that the company that creates these engines does not produce parts for them at this time. and i found this out by asking the ebay seller, that is the manufacturer of these engines where to purchase parts, and they straight up told me that they dont make parts, however assured me that no one has ever had problems with them. anyone else know of an engine similar enough that you can use parts from it for this engine?

found a video of it. looks sweet for folks that need lights for their rides.

it definitely looks sweet, but how would i go about finding parts to repair it if the manufacturer doesn't make them? how could i find the engine specs and a comparable engine for parts? im not saying it doesnt look great, that looks absolutely fantastic, but you know, when i got a scooter from china the thing looked great too. and it rode great! for a month, then over the total of 6 months died a terrible death. starter died, kickstarter snapped, frame bent then snapped, (after fixing with piping and duct tape) and after using an impact wrench to start it, the engine eventually siezed! and it had oil and proper maintenance! i just really find it hard to trust a brand with no parts for its products, so i thought if i could find an engine that has almost identical parts, or multiple engines that happen to have parts that fit, then this could be a good engine, WITH parts availability. is this engine based on any other engine? like the grubee skyhawk is based on the russian d-8?

Made by jlzeda. Nobody has had problems with them because they just came out and nobody has used them long enough to have problems. The only person I know of who has used this motor prior to the very recent is @KCvale, he did mention about the electric start failing, and then the pull start failing. Which means that, with a centrifugal clutch, the engine is not able to be started in any conventional manner...

thank you, i messaged him, hopefully i can put some pictures or videos of the engine and its problems on here, maybe a well made thread showing the problems will give someone an idea of how they can be fixed.

yeah, i mean if you do get it. then you are probably one of the first here and will have much more knowledge than the rest of us on it. though, the carb really looks like the nt carb from a regular 2 stroke so no problems there. it does look solid though but yeh ask kc first and looks like you are set on it.

Beta testers, get your beta testers here!

Seriously though, it looks like fun but also looks very stock stable. By that I mean it can't be changed easily, the head and cylinder are a single piece, which means any compression mods are done by lowering the cylinder, but that changes timing... If anything I'd give it a shot at putting my own cylinder and head on if the parts are swappable. If they aren't then I'd probably end up carefully cutting the head off the cylinder, do a bit of sandpaper and glass fixing, and make the difference up with some kinda gasket.

Oh and a oil submerged clutch, what happens if/when the oil leaks out I don't know or want to know, and how you refill it and with what is also beyond me, I will say however the alternator they have and related electronics are definitely up my alley so I can make a self charging light system.

i was actually just trying to put together a way to deal with these engines based on the experience of others that have bought it. i may get it, but not if i cant get parts for it, thats for sure. i was hoping once we put together a list of common failure points on here i could contact the company, listing the issues, and ask where parts can be bought again more persuasively. thats a serious deal breaker for me, i need to be able to fix my stuff when it breaks. and if the company doesnt want to make parts, i dont want to deal with the company. i could understand if they had a separate company making parts or something that they didnt deal with often, or released their specs and allowed other companies to use them to make after-market or stock parts, or something, but its straight up "if this cheap engine breaks buy another or go f*ck yourself" at least when my cheap chinese scooter broke i could buy parts, they were just retardedly expensive.

and you dont really have to make a self charging light system do you? just hookup a light with a on/off switch and fuse in-line to the battery.
