hey guys, new to these bikes, why does my engine drip black oily gas from the muffler when I shut it off? seems to run ok

It's oil from the petrol .when the engine fires some oil does not burn off and comes out the muffler.the oil is to lubricate the engine if it's a 2 stroke 66cc. if it is you must put oil in the petrol ..if you just use petrol no oil the engine will over heat and stop working

common for it to drip more if used for short rides - 10 mile rides will heat muffler enough to burn most of it out before it can drip

..to which I will add if you mix the fuel then leave it sitting in a can too long, the oil will separate and not do its job. As I found out with my petrol scooter when I didn't ride it for a few weeks (pre- internet days) after it broke my shoulder.

How much of the oily stuff are you adding to a gallon of gas?
How many miles on your motor?
If you are following the bad advice of adding 8oz to a gallon that
may be why you bike is marking it's territory............

Throw an NGK 5944 (BPR7HIX) iridium spark plug in it, that will make sure all the fuel that goes in gets burned.
As a bonus, you get a little more compression, so more power.
CAUTION, this only works for slat head engines!

This has me worried. I've been down from surgery for 3 weeks and the bike is sitting. Anything I can do to mix it up again when I get to ride again?
