Haha fingers crossed I used to put some oil on the contact can't think of the name now but it's the stuff they used in oil cooled welders , quick rub of that on a new one makes it last a lot longer , probably help put some kind of oil on the contact after sanding .

Thank you so
Much for the tip on the oil. I seem to be getting a good spark with the plug out now.

Thanks again zippinaround. The motor fired right up for me. I still need to put some oil on the points.

Just a smidgen should do , it's not essential but the contact will corrode faster without it , best of luck

That's cool. I had a Sears Bike Bug front mount engine from about that time. Made by Tanaka I believe. Anything from '72 should be 10 times better than the Chinese crap available these days. I don't understand why most of the single speed guys aren't using quality friction drive kits instead of the Chinese cheese

I have the manual for the k&s bike machine if anyone needs a copy.

mmmmm, points... all sort of...pointy :)

it pays to do a little google research on how points operate, then you know real mechanical terms like DWELL, rather than "OBD error code 31" and crap like that.

points are easy.

where the hell do the paragraphs i type go? just which key is it that i hit that deletes a whole sentence within the blink of an eye? grrrr!

its not enter, its not shift, but something very very close to them is even more effective than a backspace key!

stupid keyboard...
