Has anyone imported an engine to Canada?

Before I get too excited about all this, I guess I'd better find out if there are any border hassles in buying an engine.

If I got one from eBay, or anyone else - is there any problem getting an engine shipped to Canada?

Thanks.

"branding" is mostly irelevant, as discussed a bit earlier...it's combination of kit and seller...from what i've seen here, i'm pretty sure you'd do all right with that BC guy & his kit.

(no more views result from a duplicate posting. matter of fact, it detracts from this one, where the matter is already well in hand)

re

Branding irrelevant? In another thread I asked, all these guys said I want a Dax motor. I went to the site, and the Dax guy said his motor has bigger cooling fins, and real steel motor mounts and some other stuff.

How do I tell if a kit is any good? I just want solid, reliable components.

final time (from me anyway)

sellers are not makers or manfacturers. dax is a seller, kings is a seller, those other guys are sellers. the engines are "made" in various factories in china.

the brand? i dunno..."chinese super bicycle happy time" maybe?

the kit looks very good in comparison to the market, i'd go with it. of course, as an owner of an engine kit i bought from dax (made in & imported from china) i have no problem recommending them if you choose to deal with getting it to canada.

"chinese super bicycle happy time" Thats just too much so much so its going in my Sig :)

Demented I know but funny :devilish:

re

Ok, they're sellers.

Can you tell me what distinguishes this kit as better? I have no idea. What parts are better?

As far as I know the sellers are different by means of their support IE: asploded engine warranty etc. Or can you get help from them?

But from what I understand all the engines are identical just different sellers.

Just buy one from dax and have him wrap your "super bicycle happy time" up in a brown wrapper and when he sends it tell him to fill out the customs form as "model engine parts".

I have two from dax and the casting is clearly different on both kits.

super bicycle happy time....yer killin' me augi!

That would be awesome to see the wrapper and the customs face on "super bicycle happy time"

How is the casting different if you do not mind me asking?

Slightly different size/shaping of the fins and they definitely were not cast from the same casting mold. (differing casting marks).

I'm guessing the super bicycle happy time engines come from many several factories around China as do many things Chinese.

The super bicycle happy time are multifaceted fun machines then. I would assume they have mostly the same torque/hp?

Not that it really matters as I will be getting one of the 70cc from Dax
