would a center mount, chain drive work on a full suspension bike?

it could

their doesn't look like there's a lot of travel with the suspension. you will have to position the idler so it keeps tension thru the travel of the arm.

the idler will also travel with the stay...i don't think you'd like the results, the chain will give you some real problems.

unless...you come up with a spring-loaded tensioner/idler.

that's my opinion is all...let us know what you decide.

whats said is i just found one yeah but turned it over to the cops because i had a fealling it was stolen well it was just seating in front of a abound store for to days so yeah

Thats a great idea. why has no one done it, made one before.

I was considering doing that on a v-belt drive, using the tensioner as a clutch as well, on a 3hp tecumseh engine driving a lawn tractor rear wheel.

To me the v-belt seems to make sense for a fully suspended rear because it will tolerate more play and misalignment.

The small tecumseh snowblowers use a v-belt with a spring-loaded tensioner as a clutch, so the setup is already engineered and should work.
