Don't hate me because i'm a fan of the Super Steelers!:) I won't ask dumb questions......yet. I'm of course beginning research to add an engine to my mountain bike as an alternative to spending money on a new TOMOS moped.
I'll check the archives/ posts etc. to see what's out there and of course check the laws with regard to motorized bikes in PA. If anyone can advise as to PA law that would be a great start. ( under 50cc, pedals....right?)
Anyway, looking forward to developing my knowledge and learning my way around. Thanks. Looks like a great community here!

Welcome to MBc! it seems as though you're off to a good start here. you've already impressed me by your desire to do some reading of previous posts. that's a welcome change.

What's up bro...

I live in the Burg' as well...

Ya kinda gotta stay clear of the cops around here if your going to ride on the street but there is a way to get legal, it's just a difficult process..

You can check this out for more info about the process:

Going Legal in PA
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well its going to be a long journey but i will soon have a street legal home made moped.... aka motorized bike.... With all my research finished. i learned i cant go over 50cc and must have break lights turn signals and a head lights to ride on the street... After the bike is finished i must get it approved for the road by an Enhanced Vehicle Inspector. Then i must buy moped insurance about 60 dollars a year. Summit all to the state and receive title and a registered PA moped plate for my bike.

So to sum it all up
50cc kit about $250
Inspection $40
Insurance $60
Registration $6
Look on Police Officers face when i get pulled over and im legit.....

"SUPER HILARIOUS" since one of the cops at my college is a strict butt hole...
