Gotta say the double nutting works best. The silicone is a really good idea I never thought of. Only thing I'll add about red loctite is that the instructions clearly state you need 500 degree heat to remove which is a pain if a bolt is near plastic, paint, rubber or chrome. My solution to that is using the pinpoint 2000 degree heat from one of those TORCH JET type cigarette lighters,the butane type that produces the 1 inch needle like pointed blue frame. 10 seconds on anything red lock tightened and they wrench right off.
