Planning on cross country trip to California in 2008. 2500 miles.........and then back.

Go for it, It's the best of the worst of times!!! It's a hardship at times, but the greatness of that type of ride will forever live in you, and may well change your life...
Maybe plan that to come up to Ocean Park WA next august for the MB.c first annual National Rally...?!?

:cool:I would like to circle this island, but it would be hazardous to my health.

They have an annual "Century Ride", of up to 100 miles here.

no motorized bicycles allowed, not even electric ones.:confused:

Ok now ... you're talking about 3500 miles in a car or on a touring motorcycle I'm presuming ...

I'm doing 26+ miles, three times a week in L.A. I've been run off the road multiple times. (It's good to know how to fall/roll!) I've been t-boned, Laughed at, cursed at, once I thought I was shot at, but it was only a backfire. There's no such thing as a peaceful ride in the city. But it's never boring. I love my long, dangerous rides. I still want to do some overnighters. Mexico perhaps.

I'm not sure what this is in referewnce to, but I spent two months straight living on the road riding my Whizzer powered 1905 from San Francisco to new york

If this was NOT what you were talking about then just ignore me...:D

"Uncle Punk13, Now that's a long ride. Don't take this the wrong way but you must have an Iron butt! ;}

Naw, just sore! The type of saddle I used made all the difference... I had to buy a kidney though, as one was left out on the highway somewhere... LOL

The definition of how long a long ride is depends on the distance from home when your engine dies or runs out of gas and the number of hills you have to pedal up to get back.

True that. Also how far your wife is willing to come get you with the truck when you shred your tire.

I'm SOL when it comes to that. Both my truck and suv with bike rack are manual transmissions.
Wife won't do manual.
Son can,though,but he's always buzy.
When this happened to me I parked my bike at the park and ride,locked it up and caught the bus. Then I came back with my suv.
