My new Tuned Pipe!

IMHO....bad spot for heat on your thigh ..you'll give that up after you get a nice burn on your leg!.....but that just what I see you like it thats what counts

Just for kicks, I went ahead and ordered the pipe from Pipelyne....They said I was the first commercial sale! (might be a collectors item....well maybe not)....I just had to try it out of curiosity (the owner claimed the pipe was built according to the proper dimensions required for an effective tuned pipe)....I am a little worried about the pipe being near my leg tho....I guess now, I'll have to change out the gearing on my other demo bike so it can race it head to head against my prototype bike's tuned pipe....Of course I'll have to find another rider unless I ride against the stopwatch....exciting times ahead!

Andrew

Too bad you live so far away Andrew. I know it would be fun racing with you on our local track.

very nice easy rider!!! see you are the type of person i like to chat with and share ideas with because you think outside the box when it comes to modifications... hey rider i ordered this pipe with the carburetor i showed you... how do you think the set up will work out?? any ideas on mounting it??http://www.earthscooters.com/exhaust.html

The only problem I see is making a header pipe. I've seen Dean build and fabricate pipes over the years and it's very educational and interesting how he makes pipes from sheet metal. I know my fair share of mods but Dean's the man when it comes to the engine mods.
...I'm just his factory test rider/racer

I'll PM you.

Well today I finally got a chance to really test the pipe. It really increased my mid range. The heat shield works great. I kept touching it with my bare hand thru out our 25 mile ride today and it only got warm.

Easy rider, I love the reed box, how did it perform? Did you slot the piston? And you can add a port over the top of the piston in the intake port that you can't do with the stock intake! Wow I was wondering when this was going to be done. I was going to make one but the hardest part was the reed cage. I love the pipe, but I think you are giving away a lot of the performance with the stock muffler on the rear, it needs a stinger that is tuned. When you get the length you then put a glass muffler the same length. Have fun, Dave
PS: You can put a boost bottle on the piston side of the reeds, When the reeds slam closed that is the pulse the bottle uses. That is the combo that is supposed to work! Is there a link to the manufacture?
