brakes on stingray?

after reading here i dunno what im gonna do.......... mabey ill doo what my friend did on his mountain bike (we have a park with trails for mountainbikes, where ull get lost in 5 minutes, many people have had to call the cops cause they got lost) its in portsge off of willowcreek, by the baseball and soccer fields, if there are any locals reading. but back on track, so he could go down muddy hills he ruffed up his rims, and that seems to work great for him, but he is constantly replacing pads, and with such a wide back rim, and a lack of wanting to make my rim look un-stock i might try that as a last ditch effort, cause me shoes are gettin bad lol

my hub, has a whole bucnh of diamonds just like the crank, this post pretty much has the same issues as me lol almost EXACTLY its wierd...and no, mind soesnt have a front brake, but it looks like i could casrifice my lenear pulls of the front of my mountain bike and attach them to my peg mount, thats what it looked like he did.

I used Barry's engine mount and it works great but you do have to drill the frame. I also used the Livefast rear hub. The Stingrays end up looking great and are a kick to ride but the brakes suck. The front one works pretty well but that rear brake is just about useless. Don't get me wrong it will stop as long as you are planning far ahead. Then again I knew that before I put an engine in mine. I have seen some with just rear brakes I guess you must stop those with your Fred Flintstone braking system.

how much would that set me back? and also, how much would they charge me? i go to a place called zims and they want 8.50 for a velcrow water holder lol

If you do not already have disc hubs (6 holes on the hub) AND a fork with a caliper mount (two holes near the bottom of the fork) you cannot use disc brakes. Around here the standard lacing of a hub to a rim costs around $40. You can generally find really cheap used disc hubs for around $5 on ebay and then take it to your local bike shop to get laced up. A lot of people take parts off their new bikes and sell them on ebay because they want to upgrade. These are generally the best deals. Ebay is definately your best bet for parts. Labor you have no choice but to take it to your lbs if you don't know how to do it . Check out utahmountainbiking.com for bike maintanence and replacement guides. good luck

thanks, my dad used to work in a bike shop at my age, but i think i would have a hard time convincing him to re-lace my wheel lol
