Have you tried tightening the choke pivot screw and nut? Also, try cutting a 1" or 1.5" piece of that type of hose, and sliding it on the choke lever. This helps with operation while moving or using gloves.
It actually happened when I was 20 miles from home at 11 at night. The motor is actually broke in to the point I don't need to ever touch the clutch. But I did tighten it down when I got home, just left the wire on in case it happens again.
