There is a motorized bicycle forsale in your area on craiglist. I just thought I would inform you on this deal. The person has not the mechanical ability to finish the bike. Sale-925624980@craiglist.org
or phone number 309-642-8427 in Pekin, Ill. It is a 2-stroke frame mount on bicycle, but it looks like that is far as he got with it. $250.00 or best offer.
That was some informitive information about Pekin, Ill. Thanks

Yes, Pekin's my county seat. Just 6 or 7 miles down the road.

when I first moved to this area I gave my brother a call to give him my mailing address. Told him "1107 A Pekin Ave, etc, etc." Now he's never lived within hundreds of miles of here, but he asked me, "Is that anywhere near Pekin, IL?"

I said, "Yeah, just down the road. But how in the world would you know of Pekin?"

He said, "They're famous for their racist high school team name. The Chinks."

I'd never known anything about that, but he's more of a sports student than I am.
Anyway, they haven't been the Chinks since the early 80s. They're now the Dragons.
Apparently Pekin is named after Beijing, China. If you are old enough, you'll recall how we used to know that city as "Peking". And, apparently, a hundred and some years ago they didn't use the "g" at the end.

I never would have picked up on that if it weren't for HG Well's "Outline of History". In it he spells Beijing (Peking) as "Pekin".

I looked at that and said, "Oh...now I see..."

It's a pretty likable town. If I were ever to liquidate this home (without moving far) Pekin would be pretty high on my list.

      We'll see you around

That was funny post. I was checking out a town near Peoria that I didn't know exist, Pekin. Looking for Indian culture. Iam lucky that I live only 20 miles from Terre Haute, Ind. where you can ride these bikes without license, insurance and plates without getting hasseled by the cops. If anyone is looking for a weekend get-away, this is a place to go without any worries, odds are we will run into eachother one of these days.
