ok now this is getting a little ridiculous... all of u guys have gotten together for a ride up there and i can't even find ANYONE to go on a short 60 miles or so ride down here. looks like i've got to schedule a trip up north

Well, you're up early, or I'm up late. Woke up to *the call of nature* and the puter was still on. Heard it clunk, and there was your post. How ya been. Survived the fishing fine. Might do it again next year, only this time I'll be ready. Bought a Titan and Nu Vinci hub to put on an older cruiser frame I have laying around. Painted it up to resemble the brown and creme Harley colors. Now to extend the rear and put it together..... Gonna make it up "the hill to Haines" without pedalling this time. Catch ya next year.

Hey, hang in there. I applied for a job rebuilding a power plant in College Station. How far is that from you? At least I'd have somebody to visit.

denny, it's about 110 miles from austin to college station. we could do a ride from college station to brenham texas (40 miles) and do an ice cream tour at the bluebell ice cream plant. it's pretty country around that area but not as nice as the northwest. if you're ever in the area u can crash at my place.

but that's not why i'm here...

i had bought myself a 49cc mits clone w/starter some time ago. i wanted to see if i could use the generator for onboard charging, but all i did was burn up about $100 in bulbs and regulators experimenting...and then it started to fall apart so i gave up. well, i spent a few bucks on a few things, kevin put it together, and cruzin took it off my hands cheap, for fun & learning. he clunked the magnets outta the starter (smart!) to remove drag and kill the voltage at the terminal. then he put a bit of bling on it and a homemade boost-bottle...hot dang but the thing's running pretty good!! he was so proud he put his frogg-toggs on and rode thru the rain to show off...and yeah he whooped my butt in darts again while he was here

Reading between the lines, I'm guessing the Tanaka finally gave it up? If so, what's your guesstimate of how many miles it ran?

oh! NO, the complete tanaka's sitting on a shelf and patiently waiting...it's good for many many more miles. and we figure it's way over 15,000 miles by now.

we drill 2 small access-holes thru the mount to get an allen-wrench on the bottom clutch-bolts...with these service-holes it takes less than 10 minutes to swap an engine
