maybe this time the power won't go out before i tell you we got rain (so what's new?) & gusts exceeding 60mph...no biggie, we fired up the generator, and lit up the dart-board ...all safe at home

it was 101, 10 days ago in Phoneix!
The seasons are reversed here. VERY nice in the late fall, winter, and early spring. But, close to H_ll on earth from mid-may through mid-october.
It was in the mid 70's today, zero clouds.

more rain, more wind...we even had our own little "disaster-area"...cut-off for 3 days...hehe, not really cut-off because the bikes could get thru. we joked a lot about having utilities restored but leaving the "barrier" in place

18" of snow yesterday. 4" here, 6" there, it adds up. I've got about 3 feet in the yard now.

Woah, must be a touch colder by you. We probably had about 18 inches during the snow phase, but most of it has melted during the week long rain phase. Do they clear the road to your place pretty dependably? Sounds like a dumb question, except I live in Urban Juneau, and it takes 2 days for a plow to show up. Guess if we had tracks, I would be on the wrong side of them.

My road is a State Highway, and school busses run on it. They plow it every day except Sunday.

I gotta ask you Alaska guys, how do you get around before the plows come? Skidos? Does everybody have 4wheel drive?
Here in Buffalo we average 90 inches of snow / yr. but we have only had 4 times that shut things down for a few days in as long as I have been around and that's 63 years.
