    Top Fuel cars run superchargers which absorb in excess of 750 horsepower to make 50 PSI of boost. All that power is being transfered through a Gilmer belt that's only 3 1/2 inches wide:

    they only absorb what it takes to turn em.....dont think an altenator on a 400hp car is using 400...it isnt......uses what it needs and is riding off a 400hp crank, thats all.
