26" or 29" for new build?

I'm researching and gearing up to build my first MB.

I have a rigid frame 26" 21 speed bike but it rides really rough and I think the frame is a bit too small for me because I always end up with a back ache when I ride it.

I'll probably be buying a new bike for this build. I'm thinking of something like a cheap cruiser. Walmart has this one for $150. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Genesis-Onyx-29-Cruiser-Bicycle/16203481

Is a 29" OK for a motorized bike or will I run into issues with gearing?

Any other suggestions for a bike in this price range?

I have seen several of the 29" Genesis bike with some of the rear spokes ripped out, if you use the rag joint....the longer spokes are not strong enough

I bought a 29" extended cruiser for my build. I'm still in break in, but it is a bit sluggish on the low end running the 44t sprocket with a 66cc 2-stroke. I'd like to change tires too, and that's proving to be harder than I thought.
