38 or 40mm?

Is the zl rod a 38 or 40mm? I need to replace my crank and cylinder.

I find it interesting you refer me to this video. This is the exact video that has me second guesing what I thought I already knew. Everything else I've read states the zl rod belongs in the 38mm family. Fred in this video calls it a short rod but it is in the 40mm stroke pk80. Is it possible I am completely misunderstanding him?

all because it's advertised as a 40mm stroke don't mean it is.
assemble it all except for the head and measure the stroke.
