8mm parts on 6mm configuration questions

This is probably a stupid question but im wondering if it will cause air leaks or performance issues if you put an 8mm configurated cylinder body on a 6mm configurated bottom end. I've done it but not on enough different bikes to notice any change and since every motor runs differently, I thought I should ask anyways. Im guessing it would not make a different. Thanks

It makes no difference, you get no leak if the gaskets are intact

you might see a problem with alignment tho, as there will be a lot of slop between the barrel & head not having their 8mm holes filled by the 6mm studs
