Who would have thought a film about bicycles would be the forerunner of Blade Runner? Tonight I discovered that Ridley Scott's first film was about a bicyclist. It's called Boy and Bicycle. Even more surprising, it's not about racing. The boy is a utility bicyclist.

"forerunner" implies that the two movies are related (above the fact that they are directed by the same man). Blade Runner is loosely based on a book called "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" by Philip K. ****.
