Alright, so I've got the frame spread wide enough now that getting the wheel assembly in place is not going to be the issue. The issue now is that the rails that the axle is supposed to slide into are too narrow for the axle on the wheel with the electric motor in it.

I'm thinking either borrow a dremel or use my hacksaw. I'm at a bit of a loss for what to do without potentially screwing my bike frame up.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I would spend .75 cents or so on a bolt, sized the same as your new axle, to use for the "test" fit as you remove the excess metal.

I'm assuming it's not a whole lot of metal that you need to grind away? Maybe 1/8" ?

I have a dremel, but even if I was going to use a flat file to widen it, I'd put a piece of tape to mark the line I was wanting to hit.
