Looks like there might be room for one HT in the center. Other 2 spots look a little cramped for a motor.

No, I don't think a frame mount engine would work in that at all, as the drive chain from the front two positions is on the left side of the frame, and the rearmost crank is actually a jackshaft arrangement to allow use of the multiple speed sprockets in the rear. I guess they do it that way because the chain connecting all three chainrings is probably the heavier chain used on single speed bikes, while the rear drive chain (on the right hand side of the bike) is the narrower gauge used on multi-speed (derailleur) bikes.
