    G'day all

Just need some advise as to what variants or alternative steels there are to manufacture a custom bicycle disc rotor.
I've been in discussions with a bespoke motorcycle disc rotor manufacturer and his opinion is to use 420 stainless steel.

After doing some research, there seems to be a few variants of martensitic stainless steels, but i can't seem to get a definitive comparison chart explaining advantages of one variant over another.

Can people lend their opinions or data to help me choose the most suitable stainless steel.
Cost is an issue as no one will sell a 400mm x 400mm x 3mm section.
I have to buy a whole sheet (if it's going to be 420) and a sheet costs $2,500.

    Cheers Fabian

For stainless use 304 its the most common and is the least expensive and will suit your needs.
