There is no way I want the 24 dept of defense satellites knowing where I am.

The issue with this would be securing it to the bike's frame while still allowing it to transmit its position.

what do you mean? I would think it could transmit even if its inside the frame.

It could transmit, but, it wouldn't do any good, as the signal couldn't make it through a metal frame...

I guess I could see a benefit to someone making a cross country trip through unfamiliar territory. That's if those little things have a usable display screen.

But it would also be one more piece of equipment to look after, protect from rain, theft, etc. And paper maps aren't all that expensive and inconvenient.

I guess I'm having a hard time seeing any kind of benefit to it.

exactly i would think of it as an anti thief thing...not much as a tom tom..

the thing is you could get 10 mb'ers to go with you and get a stolen bike together..and beat the **** out fo thief (not recomended)...or just call the cops (recomended)

    hey echoT

sure glad that you put in there -- (not recomended) (kicking punks rear end)

used to be I thought that to be a fun THING
now have noticed from up top the mountain

    many starting fights these days
hit other in head a few times
    someone left dead
other's facing many years in prison

guess that many of us were lucky ((blessed)) not to have killed someone !!

    just for today
I will not throw the first punch
but will always protect my loved ones, friends and self....

free today to ride those motor bike THINGS

the first one that you posted wouldnt be helpful because you download the data (where the gps was) after wards. You must plug the unit into your computer. So I do not thing whoever jacked your bike would be kind enough to give you your gps back so you can see where he took your bike
