One thing about posting a question like this, is it would be helpful if you mentioned what you are working on. It's very hard to guess.

    If it a Chinese HT....

    1) Remove the chain, and push bike. If bike will roll go to next step, if it won't its in the rear wheel or chain.
    2) Remove the spark plug
    3) Remove the magneto cover, and use a (I think a 14mm) socket and turn the nut clockwise. This will turn the engine over. Don't force the nut. If engine isn't turning over, go to next step
    4) Remove both the head and cylinder and inspect for broken rings and gouged cylinder wall. Replace if piston and associated parts are needed.
    5) Rotate magnet nut to see if it's still locked up. If so...
    6) Inspect inside case for trash. I had a member with a locked engine, after a talk through on the phone...and guess what he found...a head nut in the engine.

A NT is a type of carburetor used mostly on the Chinese "HT" (Happy Time engines, as we call them).

    This should explain...again. Carburetor...not a engine.
All Chinese 2 cycle (HT's) engines are about the same, junk.

Chances are you are SOL, but depends from whom you bought it. Contact seller and find out. Look these engine are the cheapest around (less then $200.00 bucks) The Chinese make these engines...and that should tell you about their quality control, or should I say LACK of. Look at how many products they make that KILL's people. They don't give a rat's azz. To name a few...Baby formula, toothpaste, schit (sheet) rock, and the list goes on.
