    And so it begins.

So far all I have is the bicycle, just delivered yesterday. $149.99 shipped. It's a Northwood Ridgedale Beach Cruiser. All alloy. The total weight is 30 lbs. It feels very light. I'm hoping not too light to handle the vibration.

I plan on using a black 2010 Grubee 48cc motor with a Pirate Cycle sprocket adapter and 40 tooth sprocket. I don't really care for the look of the stock gas tank that comes with the kit so I'm going to buy one of those racks that mounts to the seat post and probably use bottles for fuel tanks.

I haven't ordered the motor yet because the boss has her eye on me. She thinks I have a $600 a month crackBay habbit lol. I have to wait for the right moment to hit the buy button when she's not looking. :whistling:

As far as the style that I'm looking for, I want to try to keep my bike looking like a bicycle. I'm going to try as much as possible to keep it from looking like a little motorcycle. I already have 3 motorcycles, and I don't need another one.

You may get a little frustrated with me on this build because I like to take my time and pay a lot of attention to detail. I expect about a month build time. I'm sure this is going fun fun fun.

One thing I forgot to mention, I'm very reseptive to suggestions. I have zero experience with motor assisted bicycles and haven't even owned a bicycle since 1967.

what kind of bottles do you plan on using for fuel tanks?
that's a pretty nice looking bike as it is! of corse, if it were mine, i would modify the h#ll out of it and make it look MORE like a motorcycle. I'd go for the trackboard racer look with that bike.

If your boss thinks you have an e-bay habit, she knows what you wrote in your first message. Employers/bosses monitor EVERYTHING these days, and i do mean EVERYTHING.
privacy in the work place no longer exists.

Yeah, it's a lot worse than you know. She complains about everything I do. She thinks a motor assisted bicycle is a stupid, idiotic devise for lazy fat blanks. I don't know why I married her 35 years ago.

But anyway, to answer your question, right now I'm thinking about getting a seat post rack and mounting a couple of these on it. I know how to drill and tap one but I'm not sure how to vent it. Anybody got any ideas about venting? I'll probably link 2 of them together.

The boss wasn't looking so I ordered this from This is what I'll try to use to hold my fuel bottles. The reviews all said this seat post cage is strong and holds the bottles tight. I'll run two 31 fl oz bottles to supply fuel. About $30

Need to start looking for some kind of quick disconnect for the fuel lines so I can change bottles fast.
