I would like a few extra points of compression, can any one tell me just how much i can/should shave off the surface of a slant head to gain a few points?

You can take it down to the fin and pick up a point to 1.5 points of compression so from about 6:1 up to about 7.5:1. I have the Puch Hi Compression head. Runs about 9:1. Read in an old post about someone claming to have 16:1! Without a compression release I have no idea how he got it to turn over :p

Perfect! thanks Dave,so we are figuring like 5 thousandths off the head surface.
exactly what i needed to know.
    Thanks

Like I said, down to the cooling fin if you want. The CC capacity of the stock head is about 8cc. You can do the pi X radius squared X hight to get the approx CC you've removed or do an actual cc reading if you got the stuff.
